Waste & Recycling

Overflowing yellow trash bin with two black garbage bags beside it.

Garbage Collection

  • Monday
  • Please have garbage out by 8:00AM, secured in a bag and placed in a can with a lid.
  • All loose garbage must be placed in a bag in a bin to prevent garbage strewn about. Any mess created by improper placement of garbage will be the responsibility of the homeowner, and will not be handled by maintenance.
  • Please note that bags over 50 pounds will not be picked up.

All materials other than household garbage will not be picked up. Fish guts are prohibited from being placed in household garbage. Please remove fish guts from bags and place in the bins in the filleting shack.

We have a designated area at the compound for grass trimmings & any untreated wood. It is your responsibility to take any item other than bagged household garbage to the Nipawin Landfill for proper disposal.

Please see poster at the bottom of this page or visit: https://nipawin.com/waste-diversion-centre for details and fees.

Recycling

As of May 29, 2026 changes were made to the recycling program.

  • Recycling will no longer be picked up by maintenance and you will be responsible for bringing your loose approved recyclable materials to the larger recycling bin located at the transfer station.
  • *NEW* recycle bin location shown on the map -------------->
  • Cardboard, plastic, paper, tin and aluminum is recyclable; glass must be taken to SARCAN.

For a complete list of recyclable material, please see poster below.

We really appreciate your participation in the program, as it helps keep overall garbage costs down, which were $36,141 in 2025.
